Harness

Body harness pieces that draw lines on bare skin

A body harness is a set of straps worn over the torso, crossing the chest, ribs or waist, either over lingerie or on bare skin. Our Entrave Body Harness costs $68, and the strappy edit around it runs to $139, with sets, a cupless bra, a cage bodysuit and an underbust corset in XS to 4X.

Wearing a harness

A harness as an accessory

A harness changes whatever it sits on. Over a black slip dress it looks like fashion; over a sheer set it turns the outfit erotic; on bare skin it becomes the outfit. That is why it is one of the most useful pieces you can own. The Entrave Body Harness ($68) is cut from soft vegan leather in noir or bordeaux, with adjustable straps that run around the bust and down to the waist.

Straps built into the lingerie

The Cage Strappy Bodysuit is the boldest; the Secret de Minuit is the most romantic.

Adjusting the fit

Put the harness on loose, then tighten from the center outward: chest strap first, then the ones around the ribs, then the waist. Each strap should lie flat and allow one finger underneath. Too tight and it pinches as you breathe; too loose and it slides when you move. The harness is sized in letters like our lingerie, so check your bust and waist on the size guide before ordering.

What it pairs with

Wear the harness over a sheer bodysuit for a layered look; our mesh bodysuit page has two that suit it. On bare skin, add nipple pasties where the straps meet. For a fully bound evening, combine it with satin cuffs from the bondage lingerie edit.

Harness looks from subtle to bold

The same harness can carry very different evenings. Here are four combinations, from the quietest to the most daring.

  • Over a black dress. A harness on top of a simple slip or knit dress reads as fashion, and nobody at the table needs to know more.
  • Over a sheer set. The straps sit on top of mesh or lace, framing the bust and waist without hiding anything.
  • Over an open cup piece. Straps and open cups together create the most graphic outline we make, especially with the cupless Nue.
  • On bare skin. Only the harness, perhaps with pasties, for a look that is entirely line and shadow.

Bordeaux softens every one of these combinations, while noir makes them sharper. If you plan to wear the harness over clothes as well as lingerie, start with noir, which pairs with everything. Remember that a harness is a visual piece rather than restraint gear: it is made to be seen and touched, not to bear weight.

Care and policy

Wipe vegan leather with a damp cloth and let it dry flat, never near heat. Store the harness hanging or loosely coiled, never folded sharply at the buckles. The harness and strappy pieces are final sale; if anything arrives faulty or wrong, we replace it. The Taille corset can be exchanged once for another size within 30 days if unworn and tagged.

Questions

How do I wear a body harness?

+
Over a slip, a bodysuit or a set, or directly on bare skin. Tighten the straps from the chest down until each lies flat.

Can I wear a harness under clothes?

+
Yes, under a loose shirt or a blazer. It also looks deliberate worn over a dress.

What size harness do I need?

+
Choose your usual letter size. The straps adjust, so between sizes go by your bust measurement.

Is the harness made of real leather?

+
No. The Entrave is vegan leather, soft and easy to clean.
