The guide

Choosing a body stocking

The most lingerie for the least effort

A body stocking is the opposite of a complicated set. There are no hooks, no clips and no straps to adjust. You step in, draw it up over the hips and shoulders, and the whole body is dressed in one continuous texture. The effect is total, which is why it reads as so daring, and yet it takes less than a minute to put on.

Three ways to wear one

Body stockingTextureOpeningsPrice
Resille Body StockingFishnetCrotchless$42
Fenetre Cutout Body StockingSheer nylonCrotchless, open at the bust$48
Dentelle Body StockingLaceCrotchless$58

The Resille is the classic, graphic and bold in noir or rouge. The Dentelle is softer and more romantic, in noir or ivoire. The Fenetre Cutout Body Stocking adds windows at the bust for an entirely open look.

The crotchless body stocking

Every body stocking we sell is crotchless, and it matters more than it seems. A closed body stocking has to come off, which ends the look. An open one stays on for as long as you like. The opening is finished so it lies flat, and the rest of the piece holds its place without rolling. If you love the idea but want to start with the legs only, our crotchless pantyhose use the same principle.

One Size or Queen

Body stockings stretch a great deal, so they come in hosiery sizes. One Size suits most frames up to about 160 lb and five foot nine. Queen is cut wider and longer for curvier or taller bodies, roughly 150 to 250 lb, and both the Resille and the Dentelle come in it. Between sizes, choose Queen: a body stocking that is too short pulls down at the shoulders and stretches the net open. Full details are on our size guide.

Body stocking or bodysuit

The two look related and feel quite different. A bodysuit stops at the hips, is sized in letters and is cut from mesh, tulle or lace with seams and finishes like lingerie. A body stocking continues down the legs to the toes, is knitted like hosiery and stretches to fit a wide range of bodies in just two sizes.

Choose a body stocking for a total, theatrical look at a gentle price, and a bodysuit when you want a piece that fits precisely and lasts through many wears. Our mesh bodysuit page shows the alternatives.

Putting it on and layering

Gather the body stocking down to the toe like a stocking, step in with both feet and draw it up a little at a time. Remove rings first so they do not catch. Wear it alone, or layer a harness or a corset over it for structure; the waist cinched over fishnet is a striking line. Our fishnet stockings are the leg only version of the Resille. Body stockings are final sale for hygiene, and a faulty piece is replaced.

Questions

What is a crotchless body stocking?

+
A full body hosiery piece with an opening at the crotch, so it can stay on all evening. All of ours are made that way.

Do body stockings fit plus size bodies?

+
Yes. The Resille and the Dentelle come in Queen, for roughly 150 to 250 lb.

How do I put on a body stocking without tearing it?

+
Gather it down to the toe, step in and draw it up gradually. Take off rings and bracelets first.

Can I wear a corset over a body stocking?

+
Yes. A corset or a harness over fishnet or lace adds structure and shape.

Can I return a body stocking?

+
No. It is worn against skin, so it is final sale for hygiene. A faulty piece is replaced.
