Bodysuits

Mesh bodysuit styles that hold you in one line

A mesh bodysuit is a one piece of stretch mesh that covers the torso like a second skin and shows it at the same time. Our bodysuits run from $88 to $128, from the Ombre Mesh Bodysuit to a sheer tulle, an open cup lace and a vegan leather cage, in sizes XS to 4X.

The guide

Choosing a bodysuit

Why one piece

A bodysuit does something no set can: it draws one unbroken line from shoulder to hip. Nothing rides up, nothing gaps at the waist, and the body reads as a single shape. In mesh, that line is also transparent, so the effect is somewhere between dressed and bare. It is the piece to wear when you want to look composed and still give everything away.

If transparency is what you are after, compare the two clearest pieces on our sheer bodysuit page.

Mesh, tulle and how they behave

Stretch mesh has a fine knit that moves with the body and smooths it gently; under low light it turns into a soft shadow. Tulle is lighter and more rigid, with a crisper clarity, so it shows more and holds less. Lace, as on the Serrure Open Cup Bodysuit, places coverage where the pattern sits and leaves the rest open. Choose mesh for comfort over a long evening and tulle for maximum transparency.

Fit and torso length

Bodysuits depend on the length of your torso as much as your bust and hips. Measure from the top of your shoulder down through the legs and back up, then compare with our size guide. If you are long in the torso, size up, because a short bodysuit pulls at the shoulders and cuts at the hip. The Ombre is also made in plus sizes, 1X to 4X.

From day to night in one piece

The mesh bodysuit is the one erotic piece that leads a double life. In daylight, under a tailored blazer and high waisted trousers, it is simply an elegant top with a glimpse of skin at the collar. In the evening, the blazer comes off and the same piece becomes lingerie. Few garments cross that line so easily.

To wear it outside, choose the Ombre in noir or nuit, which is the most opaque in movement, and add a soft bra or pasties beneath. Keep the rest of the outfit simple and dark, so the mesh is the only detail. To wear it as lingerie, take everything else away and let the fabric do its work.

The Verre is more transparent and better kept for the bedroom. The Serrure and the Cage are entirely lingerie pieces: the open bust and gusset of one and the straps of the other leave no doubt about their purpose. If you can only own one bodysuit, the Ombre is the most versatile.

Wearing it in and out

Under high waisted trousers or a skirt, a mesh bodysuit becomes a top for a night out. At home, layer a body harness over it or wear it with crotchless pantyhose for a fully transparent line. Bodysuits are worn against skin and are final sale for hygiene; a faulty or wrong piece is replaced.

Questions

Is a mesh bodysuit see through?

+
Yes. Stretch mesh shows the skin as a soft shadow, and tulle is close to fully transparent.

Which bodysuit is the most daring?

+
The Serrure Open Cup Bodysuit, open at the bust and at the gusset. The Cage Strappy Bodysuit is the boldest in shape.

Can I wear a mesh bodysuit as a top?

+
Yes, under trousers or a skirt, with a bra underneath or with pasties.

What if I have a long torso?

+
Size up one letter. A bodysuit that is too short pulls at the shoulders.

Can I return a bodysuit?

+
Bodysuits are final sale for hygiene. A faulty or wrong piece is replaced.
